How to Update the Firmware on Your Link Device

How to Update the Firmware on Your Link Device

1. Ensure you are in one of your saved Places (ex: at home)

2. Verify that the in-app status message shows your dog is "with you"

3. Temporarily turn OFF your phone's Bluetooth connection for one hour. The status message should transition to showing your pup is near your saved Place

4. After at least one hour, re-enable Bluetooth, log into the app and check the Firmware version under Profile > Tap the 3 dots in the top right corner > Link Details

If your firmware did not successfully update using the method above, please take the following steps:

1. Ensure you are in one of your saved Places (ex: at home)

2. Reboot your Link (plug it in for 30 seconds and then unplug it).

3. Log into your Link My Pet app and look at your pet's status message.

4. You'll want the app to say your pet is "with you"; if it doesn't then check your phone's Bluetooth connection.

5. Next you'll want to watch that status message on your phone and walk away from the device to naturally break its Bluetooth connection to the Link (about 50 feet). The status will change to say your pet is "near" one of your saved WiFi Places.

6. Once the status transitions, you can walk back to the Link device and watch for the status message that your pet is "with you" again.

7. You should see the following light sequence:
-Rapidly flashing dark blue for a few seconds
-Solid teal for a few minutes
-Solid purple for several minutes

8. Log into the app and check the Firmware version under Profile > Tap the 3 dots in the top right corner > Link Details

Note: It may take a few minutes for the light sequence to initiate, and it will take several minutes for this update to complete. Log into the app and check the Firmware version under Profile > Tap the 3 dots in the top right corner > Link Details.
