Frequently Asked Questions
The Link Connected App
Link Connected Pet is a mobile app that helps you manage your pet’s health, activity, records, and daily care in one place. You can use the app on its own or enhance it with the Link Connected device for real-time tracking and insights. These wellness insights also support your veterinarian, helping create a more connected picture of your pet’s health between visits—bringing pet parents, the app, and veterinary care together in one connected ecosystem.
No. The Link app can be used without a device. You can manage pet profiles, veterinary records, reminders, and account information right from your phone. The Link device adds GPS tracking, activity monitoring, and wellness insights.
The Link Connected Pet app is available for free on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. If your veterinary clinic participates in the Link Connected Pet platform, they may also provide a branded version of the app for an even more connected experience with your care team.
The app serves as your central hub for your pet’s information. It allows you to track activity, store health records, set reminders, and—if you use a Link device—view real-time activity, sleep and location data.

Battery life varies depending on usage:

The service plan enables GPS tracking, activity monitoring, device connectivity, and additional platform benefits such as access to the 24/7 Pet Poison Helpline.
Plans include a 7-day free trial followed by flexible monthly, annual, or biennial options.
Yes. Each device requires its own service plan, but all multi-pet service plans receive a 30% discount.

Understanding Your Pet's Activity & Location
Link uses a combination of GPS satellites, Bluetooth, WiFi signals, and Verizon LTE-M cellular connectivity to determine your pet’s location. When your Link device is active and connected, you can view real-time or last-known location directly in the app.
“With You” means your Link device is connected to your phone via Bluetooth (typically within 30–50 feet). This allows the app to show that your pet is nearby and actively syncing data.
“Away” means your Link device is no longer detecting nearby Bluetooth or saved Safe Place signals. When this happens, the device automatically switches to cellular mode so you can continue to see your pet’s location in the app.
A Safe Place is a trusted location—like your home WiFi or a Link Puck zone—where your device recognizes your pet is safe and nearby. These locations help the system understand when your pet is at home versus on the move.
Updates vary based on connection type and activity. When actively tracking, updates can refresh frequently through GPS and cellular connectivity. When your pet is in a Safe Place or “With You,” activity and location updates are optimized to preserve battery life.
The Link device uses motion sensors (accelerometer and gyroscope) to detect movement patterns like walking, running, and rest. The app then translates this into daily activity summaries, including active minutes and trends over time.
The Link app is designed to highlight meaningful activity patterns—such as exercise and movement trends—rather than every small motion. This helps you understand overall health and behavior changes without noise from normal day-to-day movement.
Yes. You can manage multiple pets in a single account and switch between profiles in the app to view each pet’s activity, location, and health data individually.
